  1. Senior Software Engineer

    Intuit QuickBooks

    Software Engineer → Engineer II → Senior (Jan 2026)

    Technical lead for the UK’s Making Tax Digital platform, supporting 60,000+ business signups. Rebuilt a tax calculation engine, cutting p99 API latency from around 8 seconds to under 100 milliseconds.

  2. Software Engineer

    Aug 2021 – Jul 2022

    CGI IT UK

    Built analytics features with React, TypeScript and Java, alongside C++ and Python software for a mission-critical aviation system.

  3. Research Assistant

    Jan 2021 – May 2022

    Loughborough University

    Developed a Python data-visualisation algorithm for physics research, later integrated into a desktop application.

  4. Software Engineer Placement

    Jul 2019 – Aug 2020

    CGI IT UK

    Built a Linux test-automation platform using Python and Robot Framework, replacing manual release checks with scheduled regression testing.

A little about me

I’m Alex, a senior software engineer in London with over six years of experience building backend systems. I work across architecture, performance and cloud infrastructure.

I also build AI tools for engineering teams, including MCP servers and agent workflows. I graduated from Loughborough University with first-class honours in Computer Science.
